New Wave provides state of the art fiber optic splicing for its customers. Fiber optic splicing is a very intricate process which New Wave has mastered. By using single and mass fusion splicing we are able to splice fibers effectively and efficiently in any scenario.
New Wave provides first class fiber optic testing to ensure all of our customers networks are up and running properly. We offer the following suite of testing methods; bidirectional power meters, intelligent optical link mappers, optical loss test set, and optical time domain reflectometer.
New Wave excels in fiber optic construction for its customers and is certified to work in both power and communication space. New Waves construction division includes; outside plant aerial and underground cable placement and inside plant cable placement applications.
Fiber optic cables were developed over 30-years ago in order to provide greater data rates over various distances by using light energy to send the information. This technology has proven to be more efficient and more cost effective than copper wire. The light travels from a transmitter through the fiber optic cable where it is then sent to the receiver. The light is able to travel through the core without escaping due to total internal reflection. The light is then converted into an electrical signal so the data can be processed.
New Wave specializes in installing fiber optic cables for outside plant aerial and underground, as well as placing cables on customer premises and inside hub sites. Splicing and testing is another area of specialty for New Wave. Splicing is a very intricate process that involves fusing two fibers together that are as thin as a human hair.
